Thumbs up Unanswered: database concept in oracle

    Hello,

In mysql we can create various databases using CREATE DATABASE COMMAND. For creating different applications different databases can be created and used. It is helpful to separate the tables from one app to other app.
I want to know, is there any such concept in oracle (10 g) so that i can differentiate the tables of different applications.

    Thank you....

A MySQL database is usually mapped to an Oracle user (which means a schema)
I will not read nor answer questions where the SQL code is messy and not formatted properly using [code] tags: http://www.dbforums.com/misc.php?do=bbcode#code

You can use separate schemas, but you will run into various problems if one application wants to have a restore from backup, and the other application does not want to have their data overwritten.
