    Good DBAs are not formed in a week or a month. They are created little by little, day by day. Protracted and patient effort is needed to develop good DBAs.

    Hi,

    I have created a index for one field. After that it gives the response in few seconds. but when i tried to execute a query, it gives a buffer pool error.

    The query executed is

    select count(*) from tbl_db_cr for read only with ur

    And the response received is

    1
    -----------
    SQL1218N There are no pages currently available in bufferpool "4096".
    SQLSTATE=57011.

    Pls suggest.

    Kesav.

    My guess is that the bufferpool for the tablespace where tbl_db_cr is located, is not started. DB2 then tries to use a minimal bufferpool instead, which is to small for anything but trivial queries.
