    Question Unanswered: is PDF export possible?

    Hello,

    I would also like to refine my design with a pdf export.

    My situation:
    i print an invoice. i have a PDF printer installed on my PC (PDFCreator) so there will be a file on my desktop. after that i will attach this pdf file to my costumer record.

    But I think this proces can be better if the pdf is generated automatically with a predefined name (in a predefined folder) so i can use a script to add is to the costumer record.

    do you have any ideas?

    Best regards,

    Alexander

    You might try using Ghostscript instead of PDFCreator. It has a command line interface.

    OK, thank you.

    So i guess there is no direct pdf export function. Because with Ghostscript I cna print to PDF without user input. But i still need to have the "standard printer" as a pdf printer installed so other applications will also print to Ghostscript if you forget to change the printer.

    And i guess there is no option in Brilliant database to assign a printer right?

    This solves half my problem. And that is a good start. Thank you for now!

    best regards,

    Alexander

    Hello,

    i now have the autosave working. But i still got a print preview in Brilliant Database...

    I allready tried to change the options in the 'print-action' where you can choose if you want to see a print preview/ with out config and no print preview.

    But whatever i choose i get a print preview. Is there a way to avoid the print preivew?

    Thank you!

    Maybe it can be done with using 'Directory Watcher' plugin on EventGhost.

    On Brilliant Database create a file on watched folder and delete, it triggers eventghost action. If action triggered eventghost can send keystrokes to opened print preview screen. Hit Enter (for print) and hit Alt+F4 (for closing).

    But not sure...

    (sorry about my english)

    i got it working. I do not know what i did.

    I still got the printscreen, but somehow the default printer is the correct one. And the user only needs to click print. (i don't mind that is just like sort of quality control.)

    thank you for your help!!

    you can also use a 3rd-party exe to convert txt.
    I've been using txt2pdf by veryPDF without any problems.

    EG:
    write to file:
    file = [$_database path^text FLDR]files\[yourfilename].txt
    data = [yourtext]

    open file:
    file/URL = [$_database path^text FLDR]files\txt2pdf.exe
    Additional parameters = [$_database path^text FLDR]files\[yourfilename].txt [$_database path^text FLDR]files\[yourfilename].pdf -pfs[$fsz] -pps7 -epc1 -lpp0 -oao -pfn201
