object orientated DB's are on the rise, but so far I dont' see SQL failing
Both play to different strengths.
I doubt SQL with dissappear int eh near to medium term
OO DB's may stay the course, they may not
of course some may argue that you can have both worlds in DB's such as Postgres
OO arguably makes sense form a program/application lifetime, leveraging the technology of OO programming
but it will take a heck of a long time to replace the datahandling and manipulation inherent in SQL
I'd rather be riding on the Tiger 800 or the Norton
