    Question Unanswered: Ping Failed!

    I am using DB2 from
    IBM® Data Studio
    Version 3.1, administration client

    trying to connect with sample database in port 50000 in localhost it raising PingFailed! error with following description:

    anyone can solve it?

    Is there a firewall in the way? Can you telnet to 50000 on the server from client?

    has svcename been set at dbm level ?
    have you set : db2comm=tcpip
