    Hi - All,

Please help me to solve this error. Let me know if it is an db2 error or application error.

SQL0803N One or more values in the INSERT statement, UPDATE statement, or foreign key update caused by a DELETE statement are not valid because the primary key, unique constraint or unique index identified by "1" constrains table "XXXXXXX" from having duplicate values for the index key. -803 sqlcode means exactly what you quoted:
you violated index requirements - you attempted to insert a duplicate.

db2 error - yes - in a sense that db2 is telling you that you have made an error
db2 bug? - no - only if you are thickheaded and have not bothered to debug your application code.

you are trying to insert a duplicate - simple as that.

Can you post the CREATE TABLE statement and also the SQL statement you were trying to execute? DB2 version, OS, fixpacks etc.

    Thanks for your response.

There is a problem with application code.
