Unanswered: how to look for data in 2 tables

hello, i am new to access and i really don't know a lot, so i m hoping to get some help. Here is the problem:

I have 2 tables, Table 1: "PrimaryPayers" and Table 2: "BillingData"
    Table1:
    Item Payer Payment
    Item1Company1 80%
    Item2Company1 80%
    Item3Company2 100%
    Item4Company3 75%
    Item5Company2 100%

    Table 2:
    Item Name Amount AmountReceived
    Item1 John Smith $100 ______
    Item3 Mike Duncan $75 _______
    Item1 Ann Jordan $100 _______
    Item2 James Miller $1700 ______
    Item2 Ann Jordan $1700 ______

i want to create something that will check who the primary payer (company Name) is for the Item and apply formula [Amount] * [Payment] and store in [AmountReceived]

I would greatly appreciate if someone can help me with this. Thanks in advanced

How can you put the rows of both tables into a relationship (i.e. is there any column with related data in both tables)?
    Have a nice day!
