    Unanswered: db2 backup to symantic tape

    Hi, I am new to db2. i like to know, is it possible to take backup directly on to Symantec tape using db2 backup command , if so please provide me with the full backup command. I am using db2 v9.5 on aix.

    If by "Symantec tape" you mean NetBackup, you will need to install its plugin library for DB2 first. It's described in the NetBackup manual for DB2.

    Thanks for the reply, I like to know wether the following backup command will work or not.

    cm==>> db2 backup db abc online load /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/nbdb2.s16

    i changed logarcmeth=vendo:/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/nbdb2.s16
    and netbackup client 7.1 is installed on db2 server.
