    Unanswered: Need help for restore linux db2 backup image to windows

    Hi all,

    In our setup db2 V 9.7 with fixpack 4

    I am trying to restore linux database backup image to windows db2 database.

    Linux db2level:
    ==========

    DB21085I Instance "db2inst1" uses "64" bits and DB2 code release "SQL09074"
    with level identifier "08050107".
    Informational tokens are "DB2 v9.7.0.4", "s110330", "IP23243", and Fix Pack
    "4".
    Product is installed at "/opt/ibm/db2/V9.7".

    windows db2level:
    =============

    C:\Documents and Settings\lakshman>db2level
    DB21085I Instance "DB2" uses "32" bits and DB2 code release "SQL09073" with
    level identifier "08040107".
    Informational tokens are "DB2 v9.7.301.326", "s101006", "IP23213", and Fix Pack

    "3a".
    Product is installed at "C:\PROGRA~1\IBM\SQLLIB" with DB2 Copy Name "DB2COPY1".

    How to restore the db2 backup image from linux environment to windows environment?

    Thanks,
    laxman...

    You cannot restore a DB2 Linux database backup to a DB2 Windows system. This is explained in the documentation. You must use db2look for the schema and then db2move (or equivalent) for moving the data.

    You can file transfer them using SCP usually. I use WinSCP which you can download for free on the Internet.
