Unanswered: (DB2) select from log file

    Hi ,

I came across a DB2 query of the form :
    select column1, column2 , column3 from xyz.log
I am confused , how columns can be selected from a log file?
Could DB experts help me please...

if this is possible , could you please give/show me a simple example explaining this...

I tried searching a lot on net for the same but couldn't get any clue...

    so, experts pls help...

    thanks..

If you see xyz.log in a SQL statemet, then xyz is the schema name and log is the table name. They are not referring to a DB2 recovery log.
