Put your technical knowledge into practice. And see your expertise grow, as you help us to develop our data modelling capability and geographic information strategy. Gathering, organising and documenting geographic data requirements for internal and external stakeholders, you’ll design geospatial databases that enable us to continue providing high quality information for our customers.

Working with product and production managers, data collectors and project managers across the business, you’ll grow your knowledge of database and data modelling technology. You’ll design and specify both logical and physical data models that meet a range of current and future business needs. Your work will impact on our day-to-day product development, Information Services and data collection, as well as on how our products are used by our customers and partners. And your innovative solutions will lead to the creation of industry best practice data models.

With a degree in computer science or other relevant subject, you should have a basic knowledge of database design and geographic information modelling theories. You should have a creative, flexible approach that allows you to adapt quickly to new working methods. And, with a good understanding of the gathering and analysis of data, you should be able to make confident and accurate technical decisions.

While you help us to continue our pioneering work, our commitment to training and development will enable you to take your degree further – with bespoke in-house training sessions and master classes, and support to gain professional qualifications. Not only that, but your competitive salary will be reviewed every six months, with performance-related bonuses. And, alongside a Civil Service pension, you’ll enjoy a range of benefits including healthcare and travel discounts, a bike to work scheme, and flexible working options.
