Unanswered: Looking for values in oracle 10g

    Hi

I'm trying to find out if any columns/rows in the whole schema that contain a certain name 'AABBCC'. Could you please advise if there is such a query that can be written?

    E.g.,

A query that can be run on schema level searching all tables for this entry?

    Regards
    Shajju

Unless you want to write a PL/SQL procedure, there is no "native" command to do this.

There are however some SQL tools which can do something like this, e.g. SQL Workbench/J's "WbGrepData" command: 17.*Other SQL Workbench/J specific commands

I wouldn't be surprised if SQL Developer (the tool from Oracle) can do this as well (but I don't use it, so I'm not sure)
I will not read nor answer questions where the SQL code is messy and not formatted properly using [code] tags: http://www.dbforums.com/misc.php?do=bbcode#code
