    Unanswered: db2 codepage 1252

    Hallo everyone,

my database has the codepage of 1252. I have done many LOAD FROM commands, like:

    LOAD FROM ./myFile.csv of del

Untill now, it hasnt made any problem of loading the file into the database. As I tried to understand more about codepage on db2, it showed up that I havent understood:
if LOAD FROM command is running, does it do codepage conversion automatically?
What is the best practice of loading from a .csv file? Should this .csv file be coded as ascii or ansi?

    Thank you.

I would always use of ixf if possible - codepage info is saved in ixf file
the translate is always done to target db
have a look at LOAD command - IBM DB2 9.7 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows and see for codepage modifier

Good DBAs are not formed in a week or a month. They are created little by little, day by day. Protracted and patient effort is needed to develop good DBAs.
