Unanswered: Indexes marked as bad after redirect restore

Hi, we're a large DB2 shop running DB2 9.7 FP 5 on a Solaris SMP. Today while doing a redirected restore I noticed a large percentage of my indexes were marked as bad and resulted in them being rebuilt. Our diagnostic log shows a warning message ADM5541W and the associated index that is being rebuilt. As the source DB didn't have this issue I'm curious as to why this happened. BTW, during the Restore and Roll forward process there were no warning messages. Note, we have done many redirected restores in the past and never experienced this anomaly. What makes it frustrating is that the most of indexes are associated with FACT tables that have a large number of rows including multiple indexes. I would greatly appreciate some help in determining the exact cause.

    thanks

That's an interesting article and makes sense. The DB I'd taken the backup from had just had all non-unique indexes dropped and recreated.

    thank you....
