Senior Oracle DBA
Description Analyzes, designs, creates and implements databases, including access methods, device allocations, validating checks, organization and security. Assists in the design of data models and physical databases, data dictionaries and schemas. Installs, upgrades and tests database software. Assists in the development of database recovery plans and procedures. Troubleshoots database issues. Monitors database environment.
Requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or completion of a technical training program in PC-based programming language plus six years business experience. A high school diploma or GED and six years experience will also qualify.
This position will perform the activities and functions of a Senior Database Administrator (DBA) supporting Oracle technology platforms and application databases. This support will cross the production, development and test database environments. The position will bring thought leadership to the vision and advancement of the bank’s database architecture strategy. The candidate should desire to perform leadership activities and provide guidance as much as performing DBA technical tasks.
The DBA candidate should have demonstrated leadership and experience as an Oracle DBA. Knowledge and involvement with SQL Server and DB2 is also valuable. The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years Oracle database technology and database administration experience utilizing Oracle 10g / 11g. Experience with optimizing and driving efficiencies of production database operations is highly considered.
The position will be part of a centralized Database Administration team that provides support on a 24x7 basis. It is essential that the candidate has demonstrated capabilities of working collaboratively in a team environment, as both a participant and in a leadership role. The DBA will also work closely with application development during projects. The associate will participate in the on-call support rotation.

Database recovery and data restore methods
Application SQL statement analysis and tuning
Strong capabilities working in both unix and linux server environments
