    Unanswered: Unable to connect the Database

    Hi all,

    In our setup db2V9.7 with fixpack 4 with the partitioning databases.

    Having issues with connect the databases.

    I tried to connect the database it's throughing an error:

    [db2inst1@vrdtisdbhcl01 ~]$ db2 connect to TIS_DWHD
    SQL1032N No start database manager command was issued. SQLSTATE=57019

    I tried the db2start command:

    [db2inst1@vrdtisdbhcl01 ~]$ db2start
    03/22/2013 19:38:14 0 0 SQL6048N A communication error occurred during START or STOP DATABASE MANAGER processing.
    03/22/2013 19:38:15 1 0 SQL6048N A communication error occurred during START or STOP DATABASE MANAGER processing.
    SQL1032N No start database manager command was issued. SQLSTATE=57019


    Please help me get rid of this issue?

    Hello Laxman,

    Check for the db2node.cfg file under home/sqllib/ directory whether hostname is correctly specified. If not correct it and try restarting the instance.

    Has this DPF database ever been sucessfully started to where you could previously connect to it?

    check three things...
    1. db2nodes.cfg
    2. db2 get dbm cfg | grep -i svc
    cat /etc/services | grep for svc name, check port numbers are defined or not

    3. db2set -all | grep -i comm
    more information you can find it out from db2diag.log
