Unanswered: Issues with backup the database.

    Hi all,

In our setup db2 V9.7 with fixpack 4

Facing issues with backup the database.

In our setup using the instance with the name of db2inst1 it contains 5 partition databases.

Trying to backup for the particular database.. But i can't.

I force applications connected to the database.

But i can't take the backup.

db2 backup db TIS_STGT ONLINE ON ALL DBPARTITIONNUMS to /tistest/temp

    Getting the error:

A connection to or activation of database "TIS_STGT" cannot be made because of BACKUP PENDING.. SQLCODE=-1116, SQLSTATE=57019, DRIVER=4.12.79

Otherwise need to force all the applications?

    Thanks,
    laxman..

    Thanks Xat,

Databases are partitioned, I tried to update the LOGARCHMETH1 OFF for both the nodes..

I connected to the both nodes and tried to update the parameter..
    But i Can't.

    [db2inst1@XXXX ~]$ db2 update db cfg using LOGARCHMETH1 OFF
SQL5124N DB2 failed to update or reset the database configuration on one or
    more partitions. Reason code "2".

    Thanks,
    laxman..

Can you check the output of db2diag.log file during the execution of configuration update?

Please note that when LOGARCHMETH1 is OFF you won't be able to do online backups. And you will have to deactivate database before backup could be done.
