Need help to answer question for job interview

    Hi!
    Just joined the forum.

Could you please help me answer the question of a pre-job interview:

"Write a procedure on how to update a customer’s real-time working database?"

I am working in IT, but not with databases much. I don't even know what's the real-time working database is? Does anyone know? But mainly I need answer for a procedure, something simple and correct. And something I could extrapolate easily from later.

I know it's a bit an unusual post.

    Thanks for your help, guys!

The question is far too vague and non-specific. Got any more details?

well, this is what exactly is asked before the job interview.

should I tell my potential job employer to be more specific?

    Absolutely, yes.

If you were working with them and the business requirements weren't clear; would you continue to guess at the answer or go find out what the real question was?
