You know that SQL 2000 support from Microsoft has officially ended now? Methinks you really need to look in to upgrading.

    Code:
--RESTORE SCRIPT FOR MOVE DATABASES FROM SOURCE TO DESTINATION

    RESTORE DATABASE [DATABASENAME]
    FROM DISK ='\\SERVERNAME\DRIVE OR UNC\SOURCE\Backup\DATABASE.bak'
    WITH MOVE 'DATABASE' TO 'D:\DESTINATION\DATA\DATABASE.mdf',
    MOVE 'DATABASE_log' TO 'L:\DESTINATION\Log\DATABASE_log.ldf'

Okay, just insert the server/database names where indicated. I used this script yesterday to restore a 2000 db from backup and also used it on a 2008 R2 box.

Sounds like a connection issue so check the tables for these objects because application (DAL) layer is looking for them.
