Unanswered: sybase dataserver filling up the Sun Audit log

How can I get the Sybase dataserver to stop writing to (filling up) the Sun Audit log? I am using Sybase ASE 15.0.3 on Sun Solaris. Is there a configuration that I can change?
I have already tried putting a background "&" in the RUN file.

are you trying to stop the auditing option of your ASE server?

if under ASE level, you can accomplish that using system procedure

sp_auditoption 'enable auditing', 'off' -- turn off auditing option

not sure if it's same with > ver 12.5

I'm trying to keep the Sybase database engine from writing event "kill(2)" messages in the Sun O/S audit log, not the Sybase audit log. Any help is appreciated.
