    Unanswered: ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

    Hello all,


    # mysql -u root -p
    Enter Password:
    ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

    Can any one give me the solution why this error occuring.

    as the error message tells you
    user root as no / invalid permissions to connect from the localhost to the server

    if you have changed the password for the root account (and you should) you ought to force the privilege system to restart.

    what may work is to do a reboot from cold on the server
    if you cant' do that reboot the MySQL serve, instructions on how to do that vary with each flavour of Linux. had you installed fdrom XAMPP you should have access to a neat little control panel tht allows you to manage the MySQL and apache and so on
    I'd rather be riding on the Tiger 800 or the Norton
