    Unanswered: Storage

    Hi,

Can any one guide me on this?

I have a db2 database(DB2 9.7) installed on a system1.Now I want to move the contents of a particular schema to another db2 database(DB2 9.7) which resides on system2. Before doing this how can I check whether system2 is capable of holding the data which i want to move?

I have a bit knowledge on tablespace and containers. But not getting how to calculate the exact space required to store the data. Please help me.

    Thanks in advance

    if statistics are up-to-date
look for npages in sysibm.systables for data * pagesize for tablespace
or average row length * nbr of rows
check index-length + some bytes overhead * nbr of rows for indexes

Good DBAs are not formed in a week or a month. They are created little by little, day by day. Protracted and patient effort is needed to develop good DBAs.
