Unanswered: computer too old I'm afraid
Very happy with my AMD sempron 2400 based piece of equipment. DB2, however, does not approve of this. My guess is the absence of SSE2 support. DB2 just crashes on an illegal instruction, but when I try to install another DBMS the installer produces a meaningful message before letting me down.
Can somebody confirm my suspicion about SSE2 and does anybody know which version of DB2 (express-C) can be installed without SSE2 carved into your CPU?
Somewhere between " too small" and " too large" lies the size that is just right.
