    Unanswered: INTO clause

    Hi,

    Can any one please explain about the INTO clause.

    I want to understand why the select statement in the cursor does not needs INTO clause.

    CURSOR c2 IS SELECT MONTHS_BETWEEN(END_DATE, START_DATE)/12 v_hist_service FROM job_history WHERE
    employee_id = eid;

    SELECT months_between(SYSDATE, hire_date)/12 INTO v_job_service FROM employees WHERE employee_id = eid;

    Thanks,
    Ganesh
