Unanswered: transaction log error in db2

    Hi all,

In our setup db2 v9.7 with fixpack 4

Getting error SQL09 64CThe transaction log for the database is full.

When i tried to update the records for the table, But the table contains morethan 85lakhs of records..

    Under the database:
    --------------------

    Log file size (4KB) (LOGFILSIZ) = 10000
Number of primary log files (LOGPRIMARY) = 100
Number of secondary log files (LOGSECOND) = 100

    How to resolve this issue?

    Thanks,
    laxman.

Update fewer rows/break up the update.

If the suggestion made by ARWinner is not possible, increase the amount of secondary log filles

or Google for "db2 infinite logging"
Somewhere between " too small" and " too large" lies the size that is just right.

Good DBAs are not formed in a week or a month. They are created little by little, day by day. Protracted and patient effort is needed to develop good DBAs.
