Unanswered: db2 9.7 fix pack upgrade

    DB2 9.7 FP 4 / Win 2008

for the last two years we have been running on FP4 and I need to upgrade to latest FP8. Application wise, nothing has changed, and will not change soon.

I have been telling to my manager (not a techincal guy) to upgrade the latest FP for the last two years. But his argument is that the system is working fine without any issues and why do we need to upgrade?

    Whats your advise please?

Download and print the list of APARs that are fixed in fixpacks 5-8 and show it to him.

FP4 is pretty old so it's a good idea to upgrade.

It's the other way around for me - my team lead wants to upgrade 2-3 times a year (just to be current and install Security APARs) and I keep saying we're just wasting time... Most databases are not critical to business and working fine without any major issues so why spend time...

But here is what Marcus_A said:
