Add Message Box to Switchboard Command Button

    Hello
After much searching and combing through possible threads I have finally resigned myself to asking for help.

I have used the Switchboard Manager (yes learning this wasn't such a good idea).

Req: When a user selects the 1st command button (Projects) on the default switchboard (main)
    1. a reminder message pops up, they select ok ( then either manually exit the dbase or continue
    2. the designated form opens ready for viewing / entry etc.

I have gone through many iterations but the last code is as follows:

    Private Sub Option1_Click()
    On Error GoTo Option1_Click_Err
    If [SwitchboardID] = 1 And [ItemNumber] = 1 Then
MsgBox "Tier 3 Projects are NOT to be recorded in this system.", vbOKOnly, ""
    DoCmd.OpenForm "FrmProjectData", acNormal, "", "", , acNormal
    Else
If Not [SwitchboardID] = 1 And [ItemNumber] = 1 Then Resume
    End If

    Option1_Click_Exit:
    Exit Sub

    Option1_Click_Err:
    MsgBox Error$
    Resume Option1_Click_Exit

    End Sub

With past iterations, it worked only to leave me with the command button (1) on each switchboard doing the same thing and the remainder of the command buttons doing nothing.

The code above results in nothing.

Before I dump the existing Switchboard and commence work on my custom menu of forms, I want to make sure I'm not racing up the wrong garden path ... again. And learn something.

Is what I want to do possible ?

    Thankyou in advance
PS I'm learning (obviously) so please be kind / simple

Ok so now I have dumped the code and updated the Switchboard Manager to run a macro. I think this is exactly where I started. Still doesn't work
