Unanswered: Db2 dpf ipv6 2 node setups giving errors while db2start

I am trying to setup a dpf setup on rhel6 2 node machines all the installtions
are successfull on both the machines but when i try to add the partitions
it give the below mentioned error. The machines are on pure ipv6 network.

1 0 SQL6048N A communication error occurred during START or STOP DATABASE MANAGER processing.
SQL6033W Stop command processing was attempted on "1" node(s). "0" node(s) were successfully stopped. "0" node(s) were already stopped. "0" node(s) could not be stopped.

Does anyone have any idea on how to reslove this issue.

Please provide the exact command you use to add a partition and db2diag.log.

    Hi,

Im using the below mentioned command to add partition

    [db2inst1@rhel6-db2-ipv6-1 db2dump]$ db2start DBPARTITIONNUM 1 ADD DBPARTITIONNUM HOSTNAME rhel6-db2-ipv6 PORT 0

06/23/2013 01:13:47 1 0 SQL6048N A communication error occurred during START or STOP DATABASE MANAGER processing.
SQL6033W Stop command processing was attempted on "1" node(s). "0" node(s) were successfully stopped. "0" node(s) were already stopped. "0" node(s) could not be stopped.

    output from db2diag.log:

    some more info:
On the 1st node when i issue the command db2set -all the below output is seen:
    [db2inst1@rhel6-db2-ipv6-1 ~]$ db2set -all
    [i] DB2COMM=TCPIP
    [i] DB2AUTOSTART=YES
    [g] DB2FCMCOMM=TCPIP6
    [g] DB2SYSTEM=rhel6-db2-ipv6-1
    [g] DB2INSTDEF=db2inst1
    [g] DB2ADMINSERVER=dasusr1

on the 2nd node the db2set -all output shows only the below mentioned entries
    [root@rhel6-db2-ipv6 ese]# su - db2inst1
    [db2inst1@rhel6-db2-ipv6 ~]$ db2set -all
    [g] DB2FCMCOMM=TCPIP6
    [g] DB2SYSTEM=rhel6-db2-ipv6
    [g] DB2ADMINSERVER=dasusr1

i can see the db2instance is not set on the second node when i try to set it
i get the below mentioned error:
    [db2inst1@rhel6-db2-ipv6 ~]$ db2set DB2COMM=TCPIP

DBI1306N The instance profile is not defined.

    Explanation:

The instance is not defined in the target machine registry.

    User response:

Specify an existing instance name or create the required instance.

i think there is some issue in the installation for 2nd node though there were no errors in the installation logs.

Please let me know if there is some solution to this issue.

    Thanks

If this is a new installation, why don't you just modify db2nodes.cfg to add a new partition?

"host is down". Make sure you can ping the server and ssh to it. Check IP/hostname in /etc/hosts is correct and there are no duplicates.
