Unanswered: db2 table backups for non dba

Hi I wanted to backup some specific tables. I am not the dba, and I only have user and passwords for my schema and table. Should I use db2move and do a table extract, and of the metadata as well? Please help.

You can go for export import with ixf format :

    For backup :
Export to <filename> of ixf select * from <tabname>

    For recovery :
Import from <filename> of ixf <mode> into <tablename>
you can go for Replace create mode.

i was talking about simple import export at table level.. not about db2move...
But yes you can use db2move also for same thing at schema level, here is command :

for backup of all the tables in a particular schema :
    mkdir move
    cd move
    db2move <dbname> export -sn <schemaname>

db2 move directory will have export and msg file of each export.
It will have db2move.lst from where you can see table names and there corresponding ixf file name which can help you if you want to restore one or two table out of that set.

When you want to restore then use
    db2move <dbname> import
