Angry Unanswered: MS Access 2010 and MDW file

I have upgraded from a 2003 DB (ext. .mdb) to the new 2010 format (ext .accdb).

The old DB was accompanied by a workgroup file for security (.mdw file). Threfore in order to log in I had to use the extension /WRKGRP to link to "MyWorkGroup.mdw".

Everything went smoothly and I have now the DB ported in 2010 format.

The problem is that when I want to start a new Access project to create a an empty new DB I always recieve the prompt for user name and password. I cannot find a way to bypass this.

    Any advise is welcomed.

If it was an executable file in 2003, then perhaps you have a log in form or something that enables users to use your project?

I don't know what you mean by executable file in 2003.
The problem is that when I start Access I get a message that:

"Microsoft Access can't find the database file 'MyWorkGroup.mdw'"

I realy don't anderstand how Access looks for this file since 2010 does not require an .mdw to operate. I suspect that therea are some garbage left from previous installation of 2003 (now it is uninstalled).

Understanding the role of workgroup information files in Access security

You might be right, try this link and see it could help you a bit about understanding your problem. So far, I haven't encountered that problem, probably I was using 2010.
