    Unanswered: Alter table SQL

    Hi,

    I am not very good at SQL on access so any help is appreciated. I get the error "cannot find table or contraint" when i try the following sql:

    Alter table fissotre alter column jrnl_entry_seq_num autoincrement;

    I want the colum jrnl_entry_seq_num to be a column that starts at 1 and goes 1,2,3 etc.

    Try:
    Code:
    Alter table fissotre alter column jrnl_entry_seq_num COUNTER(1,1);
    Note: This can only be done if the table is empty (no rows).
    Have a nice day!

    thanks for the help!

    My original sql does work, the problem was I had the table named spelled wrong! But I didn't realize that the table had to be empty also.

    Thanks so much for looking at this
