Unanswered: DB2 - size of uncompressed table, removing license

    Hi,

    I have some DB2 questions:

    1) when you remove licence (db2licm -r), do you need to restart or not ?

    2) for compressed table - how can I find out uncompressed size of this table before its uncompression?

    thanks

    1) You don't _need_ to restart, but I think the instance only checks the license status upon startup.

    2) ADMIN_GET_TAB_COMPRESS_INFO table function

Removing the license may not have any effect on whether compression works (depending on the DB2 version). I know that on some versions, not having the Storage Optimization license is always a soft error. Any to un-compress tables, you will have to alter them (and indexes) and do a reorg.
