    so check the server exists

    check the spelling of the server in your ODBC connection / application code

    if it does exist AND is correctly defined/spelt, then its down to your permissions

    make certain the user id and password are correctly defined

    make certain you can log on to the server using that userid and password from another application /tool

    if the user and password are correct then its almost certainly down to a permissions issue (ie the specific user doens't have adequate permissions for what youwant to do. AS I've never been involved in setting up users with SQL Server cant' help you. But I'd suggest you read up on how to configure security permissions for SQL Server
    I'd rather be riding on the Tiger 800 or the Norton
