Good DBAs are not formed in a week or a month. They are created little by little, day by day. Protracted and patient effort is needed to develop good DBAs.

This depends on a monitoring function and a snapshot level which you use.
According to the description of the
files_closed monitor element, if you use 'MON_*' functions (available since DB2 9.7) you have to have MON_OBJ_METRICS db parameter set to BASE at least.
If you use 'SNAP*' functions, you have to have DFT_MON_BUFPOOL dbm parameter set to ON.
If you use 'get snapshot *' commands or corresponding snapshot API you have to have BUFFERPOOL monitor switch set to ON.
