Question Unanswered: Transferring data between tables?

Is there an easy way to transfer records between tables? I have a crazy inherited db in a new job that has 2 tables for our members where there really should have been one.

Was hoping someone here could point me in the right direction.

    Thank you!

Wow, that sounds waaayyyy too easy <g>.

    Are there any hitches?

The main difficulty with the tables is that one has about double the number of fields than the other. I've slowly been standardizing the fields that are identical as, on top of creating 2 tables where original developer should have only created one, s/he didn't keep a standard naming convention between the two. So I fear that that may be one source of potential problems. The fact that the number of fields isn't equal is another than concerns me here.

I will make a copy of the db at work and give this a go but hopefully can get a heads-up on any potential pitfalls I can avoid prior to trying this out.

Thanks so much for the help!

    Cheers,
