    Post Unanswered: Unicode and Non-Unicode database

    Hi,

    I am new to DB2. I want to understand what is meant by unicode and non-unicode. I ve read some articles but still I could not understand it. Anyone please give me a detailed explanation in lay man terms of what is meant by unicode and non-unicode in db2. Also, pls tel me the differences between them.

    A Unicode database is one that is capable of supporting double byte character sets such as is needed by languages such as Chinese and Kanji. DB2 LUW database are now create as Unicode by default.
