    Unanswered: DB2 Required Library Files

    I have installed the DB2 V9.7 with FP8 on a Linux VM image. I have installed this via db2_install command from command line. When I tried to install FP8, it gave me errors about the missing library files. I had our linux Admin install the files but it still gave me errors/warnings. At the end, I use the force install option to install the FP.

    Now when I run the db2support tool, it tells me below library files are needed.

    NEEDED libpthread.so.0
    NEEDED libdb2e.so.1
    NEEDED libdb2osse.so.1
    NEEDED libm.so.6
    NEEDED libstdc++.so.6
    NEEDED libgcc_s.so.1
    NEEDED libc.so.6
    NEEDED libdl.so.2

    but when I look for these libraries on the server, they are all on it in various locations.
    Why am I still getting this "NEEDED" messages when the files are on the server ?. Is there a specific directories each library file should be in ?

    Thanks for any help.

    If it helps, here is some more info from db2support.

    Version References:
    required from libstdc++.so.6:
    0x056bafd3 0x00 04 CXXABI_1.3
    required from libpthread.so.0:
    0x09691a75 0x00 03 GLIBC_2.2.5
    required from libc.so.6:
    0x09691a75 0x00 02 GLIBC_2.2.5

    Good DBAs are not formed in a week or a month. They are created little by little, day by day. Protracted and patient effort is needed to develop good DBAs.
