    Unanswered: ORA-1251TNS:no appropriate service handler found9

    In My Java- Jdbc application within small span of time few hundreds of records are inserted using that many number of connections. Some times because of below exception connection getting lost and records are not inserted in Oracle 11g DB.

    "java.sql.SQLException: Listener refused the connection with the following error: ORA-1251TNS:no appropriate service handler found9, "

    I am very new to Oracle please reply step by step procedure to solve this isssue. I am working on windows machine. Access db through sqlplus of 11g.

    I suspect that COPY & PASTE are broken for you.

    is the error number really ORA-12514?

    12519, 00000, "TNS:no appropriate service handler found"
    // *Cause: The listener could not find any available service handlers that
    // are appropriate for the client connection.
    // *Action: Run "lsnrctl services" to ensure that the instance(s) have
    // registered with the listener, and are accepting connections.

    listener.log file will contain line with status code of 12519.
    post this line & the 4 lines above & below it

    post results from OS command below from DB Server system

    lsnrctl service
