Good DBAs are not formed in a week or a month. They are created little by little, day by day. Protracted and patient effort is needed to develop good DBAs.

From the top of my head: when you have an appliction and a db2-utility the utility will abort so that the app can continue.
When you have 2 application it is not possible to config or predict which one is going to die.
