    Unanswered: comparing 2 database environments

    Guys how can i compare 2 database environments (Dev vs Prod) without using third party software (IF IT IS POSSIBLE).

    First take a summer's day....no, wait. Wrong comparison.

    you can compare them in a number of ways. Do you mean compare the outputs of sp_configure? Or sp_helpdb? Or do you mean compare the table structures, and procedures? The first two are straightforward enough. The third, well, you can script out the various tables, and check to see if the scripts from each environment match.

    lol, the third option, comparing tables, procedures. i had the generate scripts idea, but was just wondering if there was something "easier" besides 3rd party software.
