Could you please shade some light on setting up MAXROWS value for a Universal Tablespace (PBG) for a table with record length of 40 bytes (Page size is 4) ? I generally tend to leave at default value 255 or set to 1 (by means of implementing row level locking by limiting a single record for a page for very small tables with high activity in data sharing situations). Can we get any performance benefit by controlling this value ? Why is the default 255 ?

If you can point me to a good object design( logical to physical ) resource on DB2 Z/os much appreciated too!
