    Question Unanswered: An error while creating db2 instance in db2 10.1

    Hello,

    I try to create new db2 instance and got following error:

    # ./db2icrt -a SERVER -p DB2_db2inst1 -u instfenc db2inst1
    ./db2icrt: symbol lookup error: ./db2icrt: undefined symbol: szTextSearchServName

    Does anyone know what does it mean?

    Is there a db2icrt log created in /tmp? How do you become root? Please check root's env output ("env" command) to make sure there are no references to db2.

    I found this:

    siwb:~ # env|grep db2
    LD_LIBRARY_PATH=:/db2home3/sqllib/lib32:/db2home3/sqllib/lib64:/db2home3/sqllib/lib32:/db2home3/sqllib/lib64

    db2home3 is db2 9.7 instance home.

    should I remove this env value or change to db2 10.1 library? And how to remove it?

    Yes, make sure no references to db2 in root's env output. Use:
    unset LD_LIBRARY_PATH
