    Unanswered: Converting hexadecimal string to varbinary in Access query

    Hello,

    I have a string column with values like "071B0A65FE3299FE", ie. of length 16

    I'm doing an ALTER COLUMN query to convert the column to varbinary, but Access is asking me for varbinary of size 32. Shouldn't it be the opposite?
    Ie. text(16) -> varbinary(8)?

    Thanks,
    MK

    Ok, apparently I need to incorporate binary style 2 into my query expression
    This is for SQL server which supports CONVERT:
    CAST and CONVERT (Transact-SQL)

    Does anyone know who to do it in Access/Jet, preferably with an ALTER TABLE statement?

    Thanks,
    MK
