Unhappy Unanswered: Moving values of a cell that is dependent on a value

    Hello everyone,

I have been doing a bit of research on how to do this and it has stumped me. I don't know if I should do macros, or a few complicated calculations to help me.

I have multiple sheets in this workbook. What I am trying to do is create a model to do a financial forecast. I am asking the user to enter in the number of days it takes to complete a sale (i.e. 90 days). From there, it will look at the headcount that the company has hired. If I have a sheet that has months in my columns to predict a sales forecast, I would want to delay a sale by X days.

E.G. If the company hires 1 salesperson in January, this person should be expected to get their first deal in April, and so on.

The issue I have is how to tell Excel to delay a sale based on the input.

    I appreciate any advice.

I'm afraid I don't understand your problem; are you able to clarify?

Sorry for the confusion. To clarify.

Assume a cell that asks how many days does it take to make a sale: X

Assume columns on Sheet B: Jan, Feb, March, April, May, June, July, Aug....

Based on the how many days it takes to close a sale, I would want to stagnate the output. Meaning, if X = 45 days, I would need John, who is hired in January to have 0 sales in month Jan, but 2 sales in February, and so on.

Hope that clarifies. Again, many thanks!
