Unanswered: iOS/Objective-C - How to query a MySQL database without a dedicated server?

I have an external database hosted on some server elsewhere, and I wish to query the database to retrieve and post information. However, considering this is going to be done from an iPhone app, I would not have an external server for running PHP scripts or anything. I'm perfectly willing to use PHP to query the database, but the script would have to be run directly from the iOS app. What is the best way to do this?

    Hi Jake,

I would do it where the IOS application talks via publicly to your system via URL's. The server side solution connects to the database and returns JSON coded data to be processed by your application.
