Question Unanswered: How to setup a subform to display specific field data only

    Hi Everyone,

I am new to all this so I am hoping this is write and I know this questions has been asked before.

I am attempting to create a form that has a combo box and a subform. But right now when I make the selection in combo box the data in the subform does not to change to reflect the entry in the combo box.

Can anyone let me know how I can do that in MS Access, I've never used VBA so I wont know how to do it there.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    THank You,

I take it you have put the the SubForm on the main form

in the properties of the sub form make sure you have the "Link Child Feilds" and the "Link Master Fields" point to the right feilds

then in the After update of the Combobox do a refreash of the Chlid Form

    done

if you want to be lazy make shour the ChildID is the same name as the MasterID and MS access should link then for you
    hope this help

Question Thx for reply but I am getting an error

    Hi,

Thank you for your reply, but I am getting an error when I attempt to modify those two options. "Can't build al link between two unbound forms."

Do you happen to know why that is?

    Thank You,

    Still not quite there..

    Hello Myle,

Its still not working correctly. Not when I open the form it asks me to enter Fname twice. That's the field that I want to enter in the Combo Box and then I would like to list what ever user I type has borrowed.

Do you know what I may have missed.

And then on the Combo Box you mentioned to add something after update, but I am not sure what to do. A window pops up with 3 code choices.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank You,
