    Unanswered: Mon_get_extent_movement_status

    Do I need to enable something for MON_GET_EXTENT_MOVEMENT_STATUS to capture the extent information.

    In the query below, the tablespace HR_PAYROLL is a DMS one (not SMS)..

    $ db2 "select varchar(tbsp_name,15) as tbsp_name, last_extent, num_extents_moved, num_extents_left, total_move_time from table (mon_get_extent_movement_status('HR_PAYROLL',-1>

    TBSP_NAME LAST_EXTENT NUM_EXTENTS_MOVED NUM_EXTENTS_LEFT TOTAL_MOVE_TIME
    --------------- ----------- ----------------- ---------------- --------------------
    HR_PAYROLL -1 -1 -1 -1

    Why do you believe the query should return something different?

    Shouldn't I expect to see the extents movement in progress after I run the asynchronous command ALTER TABLESPACE REDUCE....

    If not, then in which scenario can I expect to see the numbers against that query ?

    How many extents did you expect to have moved? I don't think the function will return anything unless there is an actual move in progress.

    I would expect to see atleast zeros if none of the extents moved rather than -1s
