    Unanswered: Export and import table

    Hello,
I have a table that contains about 50 millions of records and i would like to know which is the fastest method to export this table - bcp, DTS/SSIS, impot and exports wizard?
What is the best way to import text file to SQL Server?

    BCP and OPENQUERY

You can use OPENROWSETto import file.
BCP would be fastest option to export table.

For pure export speed without using partitioning and sending the output to local disk, BCP.exe is likely to be your best answer.

Import speed depends on SQL Server version, hardware, configuration, and available tools. Odds are good that you can out perform OPENROWSET but under the right circumstances even it might be able to hold its own.

In theory, theory and practice are identical. In practice, theory and practice are unrelated.
