    Unanswered: how can i do a auto multi-level position numbering!!!!

    hello i have a big access prog and i need in a certain form to show multi level positioning for each record as the format 1.x.x

    what i am looking for is like the following:

    position field 2 field 3 field3
    1 data data data ...
    1.1 data data data ...
    1.1.1 data data data ...
    1.1.2 data data data ...
    1.2 data data data ...
    1.2.1 data data data ...
    2 data data data ...
    2.1 data data data ...
    2.2 data data data ...
    2.2.1 data data data ...

    anyone has an idea of how to do that?

    Since more than 125 members have looked at this, and no one has answered, my guess would be that like myself, we don't even know what you're asking, much less how to do it!
