    Unanswered: FTP a file from Oracle to UNIX

    How can I FTP a file from a Oracle Stored Procedure to an UNIX server.

    I was exploring DBMS_FILE_TRANSFER utility but did not get a clear direction. Can someone advise

    Either use OS ftp utility or write your own File Transfer Protocol procedure in PL/SQL

    It is promising if you have no problem with having OS username & password passing in plain text between the DB Server & the target host.

    consider using ssh as a far superior replacement
